Kilrush Askamore 2013 County Champions

Congratulations to the U-14 Kilrush Askamore Football team who had a great victory over Geraldine O’Hanrahans on Friday evening 25th October in the County Final.The teams were level at the end of normal time, and Kilrush came out on fire for the extra time, finishing up the victors. Congratulations to their mentors Maria, John, Pat and Tom, a great ending to a busy season.

Hard luck to the Minors who lost out to St. James the previous Saturday.

Thanks to all players and mentors of all the teams,who have given us such great sporting games over the year.

Thanks especially go to all parents and guardians who have transported the teams all over the county.

Hard luck to the Minor football team and the Under-14 hurling team who both lost their county finals over the weekend. Both teams played very well but lost out on the day.

Minor hurling semi-final is on Saturday 19th at 1 o’clock in St. Patrick’s Park and the Under-14 football county final on Monday 21st at 7 o’clock also in St. Patrick’s Park. We wish them both the best of luck.

Congratulations to the intermediate Kilrush hurling team on winning the Tom Rath Cup on Sunday.

Well done also to the Under-10 hurlers who played a fantastic game against Craannford before the Final. There was a great turnout and a great day was had by all.

Well done to the  U-14 hurlers on winning the County Semi Final v Marshalstown. Good luck in the County Hurling Final next Saturday versus Liam Mellows – time and venue not known yet.

The U-18 Minors Football Final will take place on Friday night at 7 pm in St. Patrick’s Park.

The Tom Rath Tournament Final will take place on Sunday next, preceded by an underage match at 1.30 pm.

The U-12s are finished now for this season, and thanks go to David, Mick, Paul, Sinead and Michael for all their hard work and training throughout the year.

U-16 Football semi-final will take place in St. Patrick’s Park tonight Tues. at 7 pm.

U-14 Hurling semi-final v Marshalstown on 5th October in St. Patrick Park at 11.30 am. Football Final v Geraldine O’Hanrahan’s in St. Patrick’s Park on Monday 21st October at 7 pm.

U-18 Minors football final 11th October at 7 pm in St. Patrick s Park.We wish all the teams the best of luck in their games

U-12 hurling match on Tuesday evening at 7pm against Ferns in Ballyroebuck.

U-12 Hurling Festival on Saturday 21st in Shamrocks. Our group is Ferns, Shamrocks and Rathnure. We play Rathnure in the first match at 10am.

U-14 Football Semi Final in St. Patrick’s Park  against Monageer on Wednesday 18th at 7pm.

The Minor Football Semi-final against Blackwater MAY  be on Saturday 21st at 11am in St. Patricks Park. This is open to be changed depending on the results of the adults’ games. Players will be notified by text message.

U-14 hurling v Liam Mellows at home this Thursday at 7.30pm.
The  U-10 footballers lost out to Buffers Alley last Wednesday and beat Ferns on Friday evening. They play a football blitz in Craanford this Wednesday evening and are hurling against Ferns in Ballyroebuck on Friday evening.
U-12s beat Buffers Alley in football on Tuesdsay and they will play them again this week at home on Tuesday in hurling.
Hard luck to the U-16s who were beaten by Gusserane in the quarter final of their hurling league on Monday last.
The Final of the Tom Rath Tournament is on Sunday next against Bunclody. Congratulations to the U-10s Kilrush Askamore Camogie Team who became County Champions on Saturday last. Well done girls, mentors, parents and everyone involved.
Anyone with hurls that are not being used please bring them to your mentors so that they can be passed on to others, which wll save some expense on parents.
Could you please also save your Lucozade Sport / Lite bottle tops and give them to your mentors as the club can avail of free equipment when they have saved enough bottle tops?
A big thank you to everyone who participated in the Bag Pack in Supervalu, Bunclody.  The amount raised was €1,035. Thanks to Supervalu in Bunclody for their help.

The under 10s had wins during the week over Naomh Eanna and Liam Mellows. They play Ballygarrett in football at home on Monday, and Oilgate away in hurling on Friday evening. The GAA Cul Camp in Craanford last week was enjoyed by those who took part.

U-14s footballers had a good win last week against Craanford. There is no U-14 match this week.

U-12s played Ballygarrett in football last Tuesday evening and won. They play hurling in Bunclody at 7.30pm this Tuesday evening.

There is no U-16 match this week. They lost out to Marshalstown last Monday evening by a small margin.

Well done to the GAA teams who took part in the quiz nights in Askamore during last week. GAA1 got through to the finals on Sunday evening. No results at this time. The Coiste na nOg team did very well, only losing out in a tiebreaker on Thursday night for a place in the finals.
