Opening of Le Chéile Park, Askamore

slow grass
While Askamore Community Council had hoped to open Le Chéile Park on Friday, June 28th, this has now been postponed until Friday, July 26th.

The poor weather has significantly slowed the grass growth and the playground area in particular needs extra time for the grass to take.

It is hoped that the park will actually be open earlier than July 26th, but that date is now the official opening date.

We apologise for any disappointment in the delay, but this is our only chance to get things right and have everything safe within the park for our visitors.

A Name for our Park

Askamore Logo Our Community Our PlaceAskamore Community Council, through its Garden Working Group,  has been working on the new community park for the past 2 years, and it is now close to completion.
The working group would like the help of the community to name the park. We are looking for suggested names, and the reason why you are suggesting the name, to be submitted to the Community Council by next Monday week, May 6th.
Please email the suggestions and reasons for the suggestion to askamorecommunitycouncil@gmail.com
Thank you for your ongoing help and support.

Askamore Community Park – the first stages

At the moment the ground in the park field is being prepared – levelled in places for the gym equipment and the meditative space / labyrinth and contoured in others for the children’s playground and picnic area.

The stables are also being tidied up and upgraded and will be available for shelter and other uses.

It’s exciting to see the work has begun and, weather permitting, the park will be ready in late spring / early summer.
