As part of the annual Féile le Chéile festival 2013, and in the lead-up to this year’s Park opening, we are having a flower display in St. Bridget’s Church, Askamore, from Tuesday July 22nd to Sunday July 28th.
The organising committee would also like to encourage young people in Askamore community to get involved in flowers and recycling with a difference!
We would like to invite children to create a floral/plant display using any recycled item, such as an old boot, or wellington, or kettle or any such item, and it will be placed on the wall up to the new park to showcase the creativity and imagination of the children of Askamore.
Please get involved and help us to decorate the area to celebrate the park opening. Contact this website or Paula Mulroe on 086 875 9824 for further details.
While Askamore Community Council had hoped to open Le Chéile Park on Friday, June 28th, this has now been postponed until Friday, July 26th.
The poor weather has significantly slowed the grass growth and the playground area in particular needs extra time for the grass to take.
It is hoped that the park will actually be open earlier than July 26th, but that date is now the official opening date.
We apologise for any disappointment in the delay, but this is our only chance to get things right and have everything safe within the park for our visitors.
