Public Meeting – next Tuesday – Eirgrid route through our area
A Public Meeting organised by concerned residents will be held in Askamore Hall at 8 pm on Tuesday next, 1st October regarding the proposed Eirgrid National Grid Route through our area (Tombrean, Donishall, Ballynancoran, Bolinrush, Ballyroebuck).
Everyone is more than welcome to attend this meeting
Major Campaign to stop Gorey Gárda Station being downgraded
A major campaign is underway to stop Gorey Garda Station from being downgraded.
A number of meetings have been held, a committee has been set up and there will be a public meeting for everyone in Gorey district, which takes in our area of Askamore / Kilrush. This is a single focus group – their only purpose is to stop the station being downgraded and already the committee has compiled some very interesting and disturbing statistics, which are attached to this post.
The public meeting takes place in the Ashdown Park Hotel next Monday night, February 25th @ 8 pm and it is hoped that there will be a large representation from all the Gorey Garda district area.

Parent and Toddler Group
We have changed the days of the Parent/Toddler meetings to the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month.
There will be no parent and toddler meetings during school holidays eg Easter and summer.
Public Information Meeting re Carnew Library
From March, Carnew Library’s opening hours will be cut from 16 per week to 12 per week. In addition, Carnew will not have its own librarian. Staff from Aughrim, Tinahely and Rathdum will then operate the library.
A public meeting will be held to lobby Wicklow County Council to maintain the current opening hours and services at Carnew Library.
