1st Quarter-Final: Kenny Windowfitters v Askamore Community Council – Kenny Windowfitters won by 1 up

2nd Quarter-Final: Vintage v 3 Wise Men – 3 Wise Men won by 3 and 2

3rd Quarter-Final: ACE v The Choir – Ace won by 2 up

4th Quarter-Final: The Well v Pat Donohoe Lime: Pat Donohoe Lime won by 2 up

 

1st Semi-Final: Kenny Windowfitters v 3 Wise Men – 3 Wise Men won 1 up

2nd Semi-Final: ACE v Pat Donohoe Lime – ACE won 2 up

Final: ACE v 3 Wise Men – ACE won 5 and 4

Féile Weekend

Tonight sees the start of Askamore Féile le Chéile proper, with the Madcaps performing in Askamore Community Centre at 8.30pm, followed by a Trad Session with Jack Kilbride and friends in the School House Bar.

Tomorrow, the annual Car Treasure Hunt will start from the Community Centre at 7.15 pm. Results and prizes will be announced later in the Centre.

There is a social / céilí dance in the Centre tomorrow night, with music supplied by Paddy Wade. This starts at 9.30

Sunday at 5pm is our mass on Sliabh Bhuí. A guided walk will leave the carpark at 3.15 pm to make their way to the mass site, or it is possible this year to drive to the site and park there. Entry to the site for drivers is the entrance near Noel Bergin’s. Follow the signs.

Sunday night 9.30 pm is the Grand Final of the Brains of Askamore Table Quiz.

Brains of Askamore – draw for quarter-finals

Following last night’s very successful conclusion of the qualifying rounds of the Brains of Askamore Table Quiz, which had 37 competing teams, the line-up for the quarter finals on Sunday night next is as follows:

9.30: Kenny Windowfitters v Askamore Community Council

9.50: Vintage v 3 Wise Men

10.15: ACE v The Choir

10.40: The Well v Pat Donohoe Lime

The winners of the first and second quarter-finals will then meet in the 1st semi-final, and the winners of the third and fourth quarter-finals will meet in the 2nd semi-final, which should be at 11.15.

Final will then take place.

The format for theses rounds is match-play, with each team getting 18 questions which will be strictly time-limited.

Kilrush-Askamore Coiste na n-Óg

Our U-8s played Craanford in football on Saturday and won. This week they  play hurling v Ballynastragh Gls in The Rock @ 11am on Saturday 7th July.

Our U-10s played Ferns in football on Thursday and won. Their next game is hurling against Liam Mellows on Saturday @ 11am in Coolgreanny @ 7pm on Friday 6th July 
Our U-12s beat Cloughbawn in hurling last Tuesday, and they will play HWH Bunclody in Football in  Ballyroebuck on Tuesday 3rd July  @ 7.30 pm.

Our U-14s will play Ballygarret in hurling in Ballyroebuck on Thursday 5th July  @ 7.30 pm.
Our U-16s’  next game will be hurling against Adamstown on Monday 9th July @ 7.30pm in Adamstown
Our Minors are playing Horeswood in Football on Wednesday 4th July in Horeswood
The Tom Kenny Memorial U-12 Hurling Tournament – semi finals & final took place on Saturday 30th June in Ballyroebuck and our U-12s won the competition. They beat Buffers Alley in the semi-final and then went on to beat HWH Bunclody in the final.  It was a great win  – congratulations to all.

The 2012 Spring League came to a finish with a great final on Friday, March 2nd.

The result after all matches were played was a draw, so aces had to be counted. Breda Breen’s team beat Ashling Walsh’s team by 3 aces.

A big thank you to everyone for all the year’s activity, and we hope to see you all back in September. New members are always welcome.
