Brains of Askamore Table Quiz: Qualifying Rounds: Sunday, July 12^th, Tuesday July 14^th and Thursday July 16^th – 9.30 pm nightly

Fittest “Family” Fun Night: Wednesday, July 15^th – Fun and frolics – and prizes! in Le Chéile Park from 7 pm. Teams of 4 – €5 entry. Contact Mick Dee 086 8555 821 for further details. For all ages from 6 to 106! Refreshments / shop available in park on the night.

Children’s Disco in Le Chéile Park: Friday July 17^th: 7 – 9 pm. Fun and dancing. €3 per child – refreshments included. Refreshments / shop available in park on the night.

Car Treasure Hunt: Saturday, July 18^th from 7 pm, leaving from Askamore Community Centre. €10 per car.

Quiz Grand Final: Sunday, July 19^th – Play off for Brains of Askamore title. 9.30 pm

Brains of Askamore quiz – Round 2 tonight

We have 11 teams competing tonight in the 2nd round of our Brains of Askamore table quiz. The top 2 teams will qualify each night, with the best 2 teams from over the 3 nights making up the final 8 for the Grand Final on Sunday night next.

Quiz – 1st Round

9 teams competed last night in the first round of the Brains of Askamore table quiz.

A hard-fought quiz saw the team representing the Vintage group coming out on top with a score of 59 out of 60 points. This team was comprised of Seán and Kay Donohoe, and Des and Lena Keane.

In second place were the team representing the Community Council on 58 points. Both of these teams have now qualified for the Grand Final on Sunday night next.

In joint 3rd position were teams representing Ballyellis NS Parents’ Council and Askamore Hall. They both scored 57 points, and may well re-appear on Sunday night as positions 7 & 8 in the Grand Final.

Well done to all – if anyone would like to compete, there are still places available for Tues and Thursday next – tables of 4 = €20.
