Zumba classes will resume in Askamore on Friday, October 5th from 8 – 9pm with Julie Kinsella as tutor, numbers permitting.

Zumba Classes begin again tonight in Askamore Activity Centre with Julie Kinsella from 8-9pm. For full details contact Claire on 086 389 5662. Come along for fun and fitness.

Féile Weekend

Tonight sees the start of Askamore Féile le Chéile proper, with the Madcaps performing in Askamore Community Centre at 8.30pm, followed by a Trad Session with Jack Kilbride and friends in the School House Bar.

Tomorrow, the annual Car Treasure Hunt will start from the Community Centre at 7.15 pm. Results and prizes will be announced later in the Centre.

There is a social / céilí dance in the Centre tomorrow night, with music supplied by Paddy Wade. This starts at 9.30

Sunday at 5pm is our mass on Sliabh Bhuí. A guided walk will leave the carpark at 3.15 pm to make their way to the mass site, or it is possible this year to drive to the site and park there. Entry to the site for drivers is the entrance near Noel Bergin’s. Follow the signs.

Sunday night 9.30 pm is the Grand Final of the Brains of Askamore Table Quiz.

There will be a social dance cum céilí in the hall in Askamore tonight, May 9th. This is being run by Paddy Wade who teaches set dancing locally each week.

Starts at 9pm, €8 a head, this is a cd dance, and should be a nice mix of old time and céílí dances.

Teas etc served, and bar will be open.

There are now 2 very successful weekly dancing classes running in the Activity Centre in Askamore.

Set Dancing runs on Wednesday nights for anyone interested – 8-10pm. All welcome.

Zumba classes are on Fridays from 8-9pm.

Come along to either or both for fitness and fun.

Disco Tonight!

Byrne Brothers Re-union Disco is on tonight in St. Brigid’s Hall, Carnew, 10-1.30.

Come and relive the days of old and the music of the 60s and 70s.

This fundraiser is in aid of Askamore Community Education, and tickets are €10, available on the door tonight.
