Set Dancing begins tonight

If you’d like to get fit and have fun at the same time, come along to our Wednesday night set dancing classes in Askamore Activity Centre.

No need to have done any dancing beforehand, we learn new dances all the time with tutor Paddy Wade, and go back over the ones we’ve learnt already, so it is the ideal class to join in at any stage.

Classes run from 8 – 10 and cost €8.

Askamore Community Centre – availability

Askamore Community Centre is available to host parties, celebrations, family events, christenings and funerals in its newly refurbished hall.

The kitchen is now centrally located off the main hall, making the provision of food to those attending events an easier process. The hall can accommodate approximately 150 people seated at a time.

Please be aware that this is a community kitchen and does not have the status of a commercial kitchen, hence there can be no hot food preparation in the new kitchen.

If hot food is required, you are welcome to hire caterers to provide same, once it is cooked off the premises.

The Community Centre committee will ensure that the hall is ready for any event you book – tables, chairs, crockery and bar etc will be made available as requested.

Askamore Community Centre must be booked for all such events, and this may be done by ringing Margaret on 087 762 8839 or Paddy on 087 2310 688.

Your Community, Your Park

This Tuesday, October 23rd, sees the start of the Autumn Tuesday night talks in Askamore Activity Centre.

The first talk will focus on information on the newly grant-aided Askamore Community Park.

The park, which is due to start soon, will have facilities for every age within the community – children’s playground, adult gym equipment, labyrith / meditation space, gardens, picnic areas….and more.

Come along this Tuesday to hear about this exciting development in Askamore.
