ACE (Askamore Community Education) had Denis O’Connor from Console to talk locally about suicide, how we as a community can watch out for signs of ill-health among our neighbours and friends and how we can all try to improve our positive mental health.
One of the very strong messages that Denis got across on the night was that Console offer a dedicated suicide helpline, which as its number implies, is available 24/7.
This number is 1800 247 100.
If anyone would like to contact Denis personally, his email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information on Console’s other services can be found here.

Tonight, John Byrne of Bolinrush, and J & R Eco Cleaning Products and Services, gave a very comprehensive talk and demonstration of the various cleaning products which he is selling locally. They are all eco-friendly products and don’t contain any hazardous chemicals. In fact they contain no chemicals at all. Cleaning everything from your windows to your car has just become easier.
First night of Beginners’ Computer Classes took place in the Activity Centre last night.
These talks will re-commence from Tuesday, January 10th, with Rev. Arthur Minion giving a talk on diversity in its various forms. 8pm in Activity Centre, followed by our usual cup of tea. All are welcome.
