Below are her notes, which will certainly give you ideas and help.

Many thanks to Betty for a wonderful night’s talk, and for the 3 plants which she generously donated to be raffled on the night. Winners were Mary Walsh, Mary Grennan and Mai Doran.

Betty mentioned as part of her talk that the website GIY was particularly useful – link here.

Wednesday night sees the local set dancing class with Paddy Wade as teacher going from strength to strength. Numbers have gone up to 18 now and last Wednesday saw 2 full sets on the floor – very tiring, but very enjoyable.

New members are coming along all the time, and they are most welcome. at any time.

Our new brush dance is interesting!

Console.ie and their help

ACE (Askamore Community Education) had Denis O’Connor from Console to talk locally about suicide, how we as a community can watch out for signs of ill-health among our neighbours and friends and how we can all try to improve our positive mental health.

One of the very strong messages that Denis got across on the night was that Console offer a dedicated suicide helpline, which as its number implies, is available 24/7.

This number is 1800 247 100.

If anyone would like to contact Denis personally, his email is denis@console.ie.

Information on Console’s other services can be found here.

Activity Centre Tuesday Night Talk

Tonight, John Byrne of Bolinrush, and J & R Eco Cleaning Products and Services, gave a very comprehensive talk and demonstration of the various cleaning products which he is selling locally. They are all eco-friendly products and don’t contain any hazardous chemicals. In fact they contain no chemicals at all. Cleaning everything from your windows to your car has just become easier.
