FÁS

Askamore FÁS was started in the mid 1980s when the late Fr Barron was here.  The project is called Craanford, Askamore, Kilrush Community Employment Scheme Limited and serves the named areas and Monaseed. 

The Askamore area has benefited greatly over the years with the work carried out by the people on the scheme.  Some examples of this can be seen  in the stone wall work around the village, well maintained graveyards, community hall care and maintenance to mention just a few. 

Learners on the scheme are offered training for the work they carry out and also funding for approved courses that they feel would improve their future employment prospects.
